I received their invitation in October and I immediately thought that it was just a spam email. In fact, I was wrong. I’ve looked at the site and have read as much information I could find and I’ve realized, as you say in your post, that NB is only US-centered, but I live in Italy.

Plus, they look for local news, which I used to write as a freelance journalist in the nineties. In this phase of my life, that’s the least interesting writing I may think of.

I am fine where I am, here on Medium. I am not earning more than a few cents per months, but I am constantly and freely learning from everybody else here on the platform. I found interesting ideas and opportunities for me to grow as a writer and an editor.

Even if Medium’s changes could appear annoying, I still think that have been planned for us writers. It’s always tough to change an established habit. Our routines are precious to us. However, change can be stimulating and enriching in many ways.

Therefore, for the time being, I will stay here. No need to move. For now.
