Moonless
A free verse poem

Black and heavy this
moonless night.
Thick tar weighs
on my shoulders and
my eyes
blindfolds with pitch dark;
no gleams.
But in this infinite blackness,
above,
finally,
they appear:
countless stars,
sparkling
fulgent.
They are indeed small, but myriads
and shine so much, filling up
the gaze of those who,
like me,
from black,
look for
the light.
