Thank you for your kind answer! I think that you should write using Spanish even if you live within the Northern American environment. Chicano writers do that with success! Some write only in Spanish, some only in English, some in Spanglish, some use a few words and sentences when they need to let surface their Latino soul.

Your Italian is really good! Don’t worry about Dante: his writing is difficult and obscure also for the Italians, unless they studied it in school, or better, at the university! I love his Divina Commedia and I can read it. However, its level of meaning is multiple and to grasp all of them, you need to know from the 1200–’300: language, religious beliefs, politics, people and events, Dante’s personal story, his intent, his poetry. Most of these topics are deriving directly from even earlier periods, like Greek and Roman time. There are professors that spend their entire life studying Dante.

So, as you see, Dante is hard anyway, even if you are Italian!😅
