Thank you, Gabriela Rosales for your insightful review of one of De Sica’s masterpieces. It was very interesting to read it.

As you are in this kind of movies, I’m inviting you to watch also The Tree of Wooden Clogs (L’Albero degli Zoccoli), a 1978 movie, by Ermanno Olmi. The film concerns Lombard agricultural laborers’ life in a farmhouse of late 1800. It relates with the earlier Italian neorealist movement, real farmers and locals with no previous acting instruction played the roles in the movie.

I don’t know if it’s possible to find an English translated version, but if there’s one, maybe you already watched it.
